so i would take it that the 100 is much smaller than the 200? but you can use the the same motor setup in either the 100 takes smaller servos im looking at the gaui 200 that xheli has comes with 4800kv gaui motor and 12amp gaui esc carbon frame cnc head and tail no electronics do you guys think i could put 2801 rx in this model ? with walkera servos etc.. it is the cheapest i have found yet that comes with cnc and carbon frame gaui motor-esc at 179.00$ what do you think take care , john

Yes the 200 is bigger because it has longer blades and tail boom - 4800KV motor with Gaui 12A ESC is fine - 2801 Rx will be fine - You will also have to consider gyro and tail servo - some people are having a little trouble with the telibee type and the slow binding on the 2801 - I dont know how the Xmseller GY401 does with the 2801 - maybe Amp may have some data on that.

Seems like ist starting to become an expensive project - it started out a cheap alternative to the 52 ;)

i hear you im very indecisive :? im thinking of selling some of my helis and trying to find a little more relable model not sure this is? last week out of eight helis i was down to 2 flyable helis my stock 52 and my 4#3q the q is kind of boring to fly and the 52 stocker is way underpowered with very weak l/g not really sure what would be a good choice? the kit from hobbycity is plastic how well does that hold up the price is great 20.00 i dont mind putting it together everything to date has been reassembled i also see a walkera 60 on ebay and a 64c belt drive that comes with a gyro at modelcity after looking at rcg the parts are almost absolete i do like the belt drive idea i also am curious about the shaft drive models what would you buy that is a low maint reliable heli if that is possible or am i a crazy old man  take care , john

Yes its always tricky 4#3's are robust its size and weight - the old story about a mouse falling 100 feet down a mineshaft and then walking away - anything with weight has momentum and a crash will cause damage and the old saying is apt the bigger they are the harder they fall.

When we were originally talking I was sugesting a realistic way of getting around the problems you have with the 52 tail - and swaping your electrics into a cheap kit (plastic frame) seemed a reasonable alternative - because electric tails are a real pain - I put up with them on the 4#3 because there is no reasonable alternative but give me a belt tail anytime.

64C is not a good alternative - its out of production and parts will become very dificult to get before too long - Shaft drives are very delicate although they fly sweetly.

John,
Have a think about whether you want a cheaper build that....believe me...will perform very well....or a more expensive "best" type setup that will perform really really well. Bare in mind the fear factor when you are flying an expensive heli that you heve spent lots of time setting up....its a very real aspect that hinders progression. Thats why I bought my 100. I upgraded my 200 in the same process by moving parts from the 200 to the 100 and buying great stuff for the 200. They both have their place. The 200 is just unreal...but it is my pride and joy so I fly it more tentatively. The 100 is more relaxing to fly but does not perform quite as well due to the componants. I kept it 100 as it is more suitable for the common basement carpark where I fly at night. I have just finished my full bl 4G3 which is now more suitable for the carpark so I am not sure what I will do with the 100....I'll wait and see.
Re the 2801 rx. That will be fine. I use a Spektrum rx at 4grams wheras the 2801 rx is 10 odd from memory. Weight is crutial with these little helis. Be conscious of that.
Where do you want to fly? ie what size area?
A user "Makmov" has the 2801 in a Trex250 and he is very happy with it but I am not familiar with any Gaui flyers using it. "Nexgen" an experienced and impressive flyer is using the GY401 gyro in the Gaui 200 and is very happy with its performance.
My honest suggestion would be to get the FF200. Put the GY401 in it with good cyclic servos like the HS45s or better still the Hyperions. A great tail servo to match...the Hyperion without doubt. When you crash plastic parts are either ok or break. Cnc parts bend and this can lead to huge frustration as you try to find a vibration. When you finally fix it you are then hesitant to fly for fear of crashing and setup.
The Gaui parts fit the FF. I would suggest a cnc swash and possible a cnc headblock but just replace them as you need or break the others. Pay fine attention when building re smooth operation etc and you will have a nice heli.
Also check shipping...xheli usually makes up for their low list prices that way. If you do want a Gaui in 200 size I would get the recently released V2 version with flybar.
